I had the privilege of leading worship for a small group of pastors at King’s Fold Retreat Center, near Banff, Canada this past week. It was a rich encounter of both beauty and the beauty of delightful hospitality from the communal staff of 10 at King’s Fold!.

I recall wondering if I should bring my “big boy” camera to the retreat, or just opt for simplicity in international travel knowing that my iPhone Pro was always holstered at my hip. I’m so glad I chose the former, and that I stuck my travel tripod on my suitcase as well.

It was very early Tuesday morning at 5:00 that I got up to use the restroom. As I was just about to slip back into the warm sheets and blankets of my cozy full-size bed, I “heard” God say, “Hey, come here and look at this. I think you’ll like it.” So I peeked out of my south-facing second-floor window, and the sky was a dazzling display of stars. However, vying for my attention more than any of them was the brightest display of Jupiter over the Canadian Rockies I had ever seen. Needless to say I got dressed, mounted my camera on my tripod, and went outside the retreat house to the edge of the bluff that it sat on, and savored God’s artistic wonder. Of course I clicked a few shots as well. Please enjoy what I saw, and give praise to the Father of Lights!
